I would like to share with you today about the worthiness of our God to receive our worship. He is glorious in all of his ways. David wrote, “On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate” (Ps. 145:5). The Lord himself is glorious and his works are glorious. He created mankind to bring glory to himself. Psalm 86:8-10, “There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.” When you and I think about the Lord and his works we are struck with the fact he is incomparable. David writes that the pagan gods (Dagon, Molech, Baal) cannot compare with the God of Israel, Yahweh. This is not hyperbole. When the Lord freed Israel from enslavement to the Egyptians each of the ten plagues was a judgment upon an Egyptian god. As Israel approached the Promised Land, the peoples of the land were in awe of Israel’s God, who had conquered Pharaoh and the Egyptians. When the Philistines placed the Ark of the Covenant before their god, Dagon, the statue was cast to the ground before the Ark one night. The next night it was missing its hands and head. This is the same Lord who brought the Babylonian, Persian, Greek, and Roman empires to an end. His works are incomparable.
One day every knee will bow and tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil. 2:10). Think about this, the Lord Jesus is building his church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matt. 16:18). He is saving souls among the nations (Acts 26:17b-18). Furthermore, we read in the book of Revelation that people from all nations, tribes, peoples, and languages will be in heaven one day because they trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior (Rev. 7:9). Believers will glorify the Lord forever because he is great and does wondrous things (Ps. 86:10). Believers from the nations will worship the Lord with gladness. Unbelievers from the nations will worship the Lord because they must.
There is no one like the Lord. He is great and has done wondrous things. He alone is God. The nations will worship him. They will glorify him gladly or because they must. Make sure that you will worship him with gladness because you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Brothers and sisters, worship the Lord with gladness because you know him. You have peace with God through his Son Jesus Christ. Pray that the Lord will draw more people from the nations to himself during this time to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
